This week Gabi and Dan took siblings Cornel, Daniel, and Dita, along with Maria's former sponsors Erin LaMourie and her dad, Len, to visit Maria and her new family. She left the foundation this summer and is living with her fiance, Bogdan, and his family. They were very hospitable and lovely. They made a traditional lunch for everyone and even got out their variety of hunting rifles to show off! Maria and Bogdan are expecting a baby this spring. Although we wished that she had stayed in our mentor program and finished high school, she is doing well and very loved by her new family. It was special to get the siblings together as well.

This was a new and rare experience for Daniel as many Romanians don't own guns.

It was a very special day to have most of the Kalanyos kids together again. Simona is living and working now in Italy and couldn't come into town.

It was also a neat day for Erin and Len to see Maria again since they have sponsored her for years. We are thankful for their love and encouragement of Maria that extends beyond the time she was in our care.
I know it means a lot to Maria as well!
