Security summer is on the way!

As most of you already know from the past years, we are getting ready AGAIN for a memorable summer. This time, it will be a “Security Summer”! Livada Orphan Care has the opportunity to minister about 500 orphan and at-risk of abandonment kids from Mures County this summer, by providing day camps where the main purpose is to praise God and having fun. 

All the 500 kids we will minister will be split into 7 weeks of camps full of fun, joy and excitement. There will be three weeks of gypsy camps and four weeks of orphan camps. Also, a small team will be ministering for two weeks to about 20 abandoned babies and toddlers in Ludus Baby Hospital.This summer about 80 gypsy kids from Ogra Village will enjoy their very first camp of their lives. Praise the Lord for this opportunity!

Along with about 60 Romanian summer staff there will be 125 Americans visiting throughout the summer to help with camps. In each of those 7 weeks of day camps the kids will be learning about their eternal security and the security they can have from the fears from their past, their present and their future. They will also hear Joseph’s story and will learn about his life and how God provided him security in these same areas.

 

The preparations for summer 2011 have already begun and our goal is for it to be the best summer yet! As is the case every year, the summer of 2011 will not be possible without a team effort.  So, please join us in prayer for the 500 orphan and at-risk of abandonment kids having the opportunity of their lives to be loved unconditionally and come to salvation in Jesus Christ. 

Pray for the college American and Romanian students and young adults who are coming for the whole summer to serve as summer interns with us and help with day camps. Pray for the seven American teams who will come to serve with us in this amazing long-awaited summer of security. Finally, please pray for our Romanian staff and volunteers as we have begun planning and preparing for this summer. Pray that God will give us opportunities to speak truth into the lives of each child and summer staff member and that we will see many lives changed this summer.
